Things to do in Perth with the Kids

It comes as no surprise that when you are looking for things to do in Perth with kids, your typical choices are going to the zoo or other animal orientated attractions, checking out amusement parks or heading to the latest exhibition at the museum.

While these are popular and fun activities to do with kids, especially around school holiday time, there may be an  activity that you haven’t thought about doing in Perth with the kids, and it just happens to be our specialty.

Here at Helen O’Grady Drama Academy, our drama classes are a great activity to get your kids involved with. While guiding your kids through the zoo or museum can be fun, why not get your kids interacting with others their own age in a safe and energetic environment?

Our kids drama classes are grouped into similar age groups, from 3- 5 year olds, 5-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds and 12- 17 year olds, so that no matter the age of your child, there is a drama class to suit them.

Our highly acclaimed self development program helps kids to develop so many life skills that last a lifetime!

Through our fun, stimulating lessons, kids learn to become confident, learn how to communicate effectively with their peers, and  gain self esteem which contributes to their levels of enthusiasm and energy. Could you ask for a more beneficial cycle of behaviour?

Are you looking for things to do in Perth with the kids? Find out why Helen O’Grady Drama Academy are the world’s largest provider of developmental acting classes for children, from 3 years of age to teens of 17. WELCOME TO TERM 3 to everyone from the Eastern Suburbs! Where did Term 2 go?? Term 2 was amazing and all our classes did so well in their Parent Presentation Days. We even had parents joining in with an Introductory Activity as part of the presentation! Now we know where all our students get their enthusiasm from, the parents did such a wonderful job at their very first drama activity, congratulations! Here are a few photos of how much fun we had last term:

We have also had a wonderful start to Term 3 with lots of new families joining us and to all our existing students a BIG THANK YOU for making all our new students feel part of our class so quickly, I am so proud of you all. :)

We have really enjoyed our Improvisations this term and have already been to the Zoo with the Lower Primary classes! Upper Primary students have been working on prop skills and mini-scripts, which will give us solid grounding towards our Term 4 Productions which we look forward to performing for you at the end of the year.

Every second week this term we are having a “themed” lesson where the students are able to dress up for their Drama Class. (See our previous posts for the list if you are unsure.)

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to our carers, parents and students who always amaze me with their creativity and attention to detail with dress-ups.

Here we have some students from our Quinns Lower Primary class and our Greenwood Kindy class, looking great in their ‘dress-ups’.

I Look Up To You!

We are very lucky to have so many fantastic students at Helen O’Grady who are always willing to put others before themselves. I am continually pleased to see the generosity of spirit and kindness to others that is on display everyday in our classes.  Part of our programme includes teaching social skills to our students, so we always encourage them to look out for, and take care of, our newcomers to class.

On Friday at at our Kinross Studio, we had a number of new students commencing with us and I was in awe at how welcoming and willing they were to make the new students feel comfortable.

It goes to show how naturally giving kids are and how they are such fantastic role models – not only for other children, but adults as well!
